I Don’t Have A Hip!!

After waiting about 6 months and receiving 2 previous appointments which were virtually impossible for me to attend today was the day I finally got to meet the man who will be carrying out my very complicated surgery.
Unfortunately I had to travel 45 miles for the privilege, but it was a lovely sunny day and they had fresh muffins at the hospital cafe, nice.

After enduring yet another X-Ray from a lady who clearly had no people skills I was swiftly seen by the Consultant and his colleague. The bad news…I essentially have no left hip….The good news..To be honest there wasn’t really any good news. They can do the surgery, I will have to have a custom hip joint and socket. The pain will stop but there is no guarantee that my mobility will improve and I will probably still have a leg length discrepancy.

I really wish I had a pic of my X-Ray to post on here, perhaps I will ask if I can have one, surely I’m entitled to a copy right?

Anyways I hope you enjoy following my journey and I would really love to hear from anyone who has been or is going through a similar experience….I’m expected to be summoned back for a CT scan within the next week or so
